1. About This Statement
Beyond Bamboo Global Ltd is committed to preventing modern slavery, forced labour, and human trafficking in all aspects of our business and supply chains.
Although Beyond Bamboo Global is not currently required to publish a Modern Slavery Statement under Section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 — our annual turnover being below the £36m statutory threshold — we recognise our responsibility to act ethically and transparently. We have therefore chosen to adopt the principles of the Act on a voluntary and proportionate basis, and we intend to continue doing so as the business grows.
We are monitoring ongoing UK Government consultation on potential reforms to the Act, including proposals for mandatory supply chain due diligence obligations and adjustments to the turnover threshold. We will update our approach promptly if the legal position changes.
2. Our Business and Supply Chains
Beyond Bamboo Global Ltd provides sustainability-focused hotel management services, new build consultancy, and planet-conscious amenities and product solutions to the hospitality sector. Our supply chains include:
manufacturers and distributors of amenity products, consumables, and branded goods — primarily sourced from global markets including Asia, South Asia, and other regions with variable labour protections;
hospitality service suppliers, including cleaning, facilities, and logistics providers; and
professional and consulting service providers across the UK and internationally.
We procure rather than manufacture products directly, which shapes our due diligence approach — focused on supplier engagement, transparency, and contractual protections rather than direct factory oversight.
3. Our Policies and Commitments
Beyond Bamboo Global Ltd aligns with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code, which is grounded in International Labour Organization (ILO) conventions. The ETI Base Code covers:
freely chosen employment — no forced, bonded, or involuntary labour;
prohibition of child labour;
safe and hygienic working conditions;
freedom of association and the right to collective bargaining;
fair wages and working hours; and
no harsh or inhumane treatment of workers.
We expect all suppliers and business partners to uphold these principles.
4. Supply Chain Due Diligence
As a business that procures rather than manufactures products, Beyond Bamboo Global focuses its due diligence on supplier selection and ongoing engagement. Our current approach includes:
working with suppliers that share our commitment to ethical labour practices;
requesting written confirmation of adherence to ethical standards, including the ETI Base Code or an equivalent recognised framework;
prioritising suppliers who demonstrate transparency, traceability, and a commitment to continuous improvement;
conducting proportionate enquiry into the labour practices and sourcing origins of suppliers in higher-risk product categories or geographies; and
reserving the right to disengage from suppliers where credible risks of modern slavery or unethical labour practices are identified and not adequately addressed.
5. Risk Assessment
Beyond Bamboo Global recognises that risks of modern slavery are heightened in certain sectors and geographies relevant to our supply chains. Key risk areas include:
manufacture of textile, packaging, and personal care amenity products in regions with weaker labour law enforcement;
migrant and seasonal labour used in hospitality supply chains, including cleaning product manufacturing and logistics; and
lower tiers of global supply chains where transparency and traceability are harder to verify.
We take a risk-based and proportionate approach to due diligence, informed by product type, country of origin, and supplier transparency. Our focus is on supplier engagement and remediation rather than punitive measures alone.
6. Training and Awareness
Beyond Bamboo Global ensures that those involved in supplier selection and procurement understand the risks of modern slavery and the importance of ethical sourcing. Awareness of these risks is embedded into our procurement and supplier review processes, commensurate with the size and nature of the business.
7. How to Raise a Concern
