Restoring and Rejuvenating the Planet

Our April commitment for #COP28 has been to actively encourage and inspire our global team to get involved in local projects that are working towards delivering our goal of going #beyondsustainability to #restore and #rejuvenate the planet. As an organisation committed to building and developing a #sustainable #supplychain for the #hospitality industry we are also focused on reducing waste and cleaning up the eco-system.

On 21st April, Beyond Bamboo team member Raquel Graça worked with Ocean Alive a Portuguese NGO, that has actively and collaboratively engaged the local fishing community, decision-makers and scientists in conserving and restoring threatened seagrass meadows and salt marshes to clear plastic from the sea grass.

This important project has a positive impact on the protection of seagrass meadows and on the employability of women in the Sado estuary’s fishing community.

We believe it is important for every member of our team to take time to be in nature, actively engage in making things better and to be reminded that we are doing everything that we do to ensure that people can thrive in #symbiosis on this planet.
